I bought this because standard flat mouse pads and those wrist gel pads were literally giving me a pain. Though not how the creator may have intended it, I have this positioned with the higher side as a wrist rest (opposite of how they show it being used). Instead of resting the wrist up and hand down, now everything kind of evens out. Helped with my wrist pain, so I'm happy. Well made and good size, too.
