Let me start positive first: the output power is excellent and the display is big for easy navigation. The fact that you can store your iPod or USB drive inside the unit without risk of damaging it, it's definitely a plus. The quality of the unit and its components are excellent. I don't see this unit damage of sun/water affected in the long term. Now, the unit is big and needs at least 7 in of depth for wherever you are mounting it. I had it installed in my boat yesterday and I had to do it in a very weird location where I almost can't see the display. I understand now why they sale the wire remote. I would recommend first checking if you have space available where you can install it and you'll feel comfortable operating the unit in that location. I don't feel comfortable with mine but nobody gave me heads up. I hope this works for you.
