The RB-61 employs a 6.5-inch woofer for a solid bass foundation. This Cerametallic woofer with inverted copper dust cap exhibits a very high stiffness-to-mass ratio and superb damping characteristics. Increased baffle ribbing around the horn mouth dramatically improves acoustics across the sonic range. I auditioned numerous speakers before discovering Klipsch sort of by accident. It sounds overstated, but the simple truth is the rich perfect sound from these speakers exceeds anything I've ever heard. Polk, Cerwin Vega, Boston Acoustics, Infinity, Bose and many more that I or family members have owned all pale in comparison to these. The first thing I popped in when I paired these up with my RC-52 center was Eagle Eye on BluRay. The speakers they replaced weren't bad, but the difference was startling. Every little background sound in the soundtrack is clear and distinct. Dialog that was lost before became perfectly clear. Yet with the crisp clarity there is no harsh or mechanical quality to the sound. It remains rich and full. They handle music, video games and eveything else I have given them with equal ease. If there is a volume level at which the sound quality detiorates it exceeds my ability to tolerate. If there is a better set of spaekers in any price range I have yet to hear them. I look forward to rounding out the system with Klipsch rear surrounds and subwoofer.
