Two-Way Messaging

Owner Reviews, Ratings, Comments and Criticism
This sends text messages via satellite faster and more reliably than spot device. Also, it can receive texts, but that is not easy unless the in reach device sends the first message. One can do it awkwardly through a shared web page. This device is cheaper than a satellite phone by far and more versatile than a beacon or spot. It is the best two way direct text system out there. The only reasons for not giving it a five are cost of plans, awkwardness of receiving text messages, and lack of built in keyboard. Texts from the gps directly are very slow, with the non touchpad.Unlike the spot device, this uses the better iridium satellite system, permits two way texts, and confirms that texts are sent (a big plus). Under tree cover, it transmits at least five times faster than the Spot and so far, I have not had any lost messages.
