I had bought the cheaper Thinklabs stethoscope which was ok but eventually began "cutting out" and losing the sound. Which had it still retained acoustic quality it would be ok but, it was all or nothing! Absolutely a detriment in a clinical setting, missing breath sounds altogether ! The quality difference is obvious with the Littman, worth the $100 or so price difference, sound is amazing. The ambience sound reduction is worth it alone when patients talk during auscultation ( why do they always do that, lol?). I can keep my eardrums intact....
