I have had my hitachi hard drive for over a year now no problems at all. you do not have to use the life studio program. I just uninstalled it and made a shortcut on my desktop to the hitachi hard drive. I organized all my folders how I want ( i have a movie folder music,pictures,and tv and so on) its great i organize everything how I want. I do not really like the lifestudio program because it organizes stuff by date and its hard for me to find things but it looks great and would be if it had more options but i get where they where going with it I just do not use it. Its deserves more stars than people are giving it it is a good hard drive.
