I have never felt the need to post a review on a product until now. This drive is flawless compared to the Seagate and Western Digital external it replaced. The design is sleek and functional, it is a little chunkier than my Seagate and WD but cools much better. The bottom is vented and I would like to think there is a cooling fan behind the vent but I am unsure. Either way after hours of writing data, and encrypting the drive the exterior is just barely warm with no slow down of performance. This is impressive compared to my Seagate which would be hot to the touch after 2-3 hours with a considerable loss of performance. The transfer speed on this drive is also very fast, using the USB 3.0 connection I was writing to the drive at 60mb/ps on average from an internal sata 2 drive. I can't comment on the bundled backup software or the online cloud storage because I formatted the drive out the box. My only complaints about this drive is I would like to sit it on its side but there is no label to tell you which side is up so you don't know rather the drive is upside down or not which if you plan to keep in the vertical position does not apply, and there is no on/off switch so to turn the drive off you have to unplug it. These things may not bother you. Overall I would definitely recommend this drive to anyone who needs fast reliable external storage.
