There are many different types of still / video waterproof cameras available. I was looking for a cheap one that's waterproof since I wanted one for kayaking and rugged outdoor use especially in the rain and snow. I found the Agfaphoto eClipse Explorer and I haven't been disappointed.PROS:1. It takes incredibly good still and video daylight images. 2. Long battery life. 3. Flawlessly connects to my MacBook and my friend's PC computer for downloads without having to add any additional software. 4. Fairly easy to figure out how to use without needing to constantly refer to the user's manual (no print user's manual, you'll have to download one); although a quick read of the manual is recommended. 5. Uses a removable SD card which is fairly common and getting cheaper to buy. 6. It's waterproof so it's great if you're around water, snow, sand, rain, etc.CONS:1. No flash so low light and night use is pretty limited unless you have an external light source. 2. The camera has only a non-removable battery. I would have preferred a removable battery that could be charged separately from the camera.If you can get past the CONS, I highly recommend this if you want a camera that takes both stills and video images.
